Why are you taking online courses?

"Online gives me the capability to work full-time as a registered nurse, wife, mother of three active children, and balance life. Southeast Online is the best decision I made while pursuing the advancement of my nursing career. I plan to further my career with obtaining a master’s degree with SEMO Online. "

What will this degree help you accomplish?

"The RN-BSN online degree will help me accomplish learning the continuously advancing new, innovative systems and discovering the growing processes to treating patients with better outcomes. Achieving an online BSN will further my skills in critical thinking, health promotion, and leadership. Career opportunities can be very competitive, yet with obtaining a BSN degree I can have better marketing strategies to furthering my career."

What advice would you give to someone considering going back to school?

"Set a GOAL with high valuable standards and make it happen! You are the backbone to your own success and with dedication anything is possible. Build a support system. Discuss your plan with your spouse, friends, and other important family members. With great support and communication, together success is achievable."

How do you balance school, work, and personal life?

"It is challenging at times. However, reaching out to classmates has helped build a sense of community. Creating and sticking to a weekly schedule is important to stay on top of assignments."

What’s the best part of being an online student?

"The program is manageable with a full-time job. Professors are flexible and experts in their field."

What advice would you give current online students?

"Build connections with your professors. They can help be a building block to opportunities such as scholarships, internships, and jobs. "

I think the best part of being an online student is my learning is in my own hands. I don’t have to follow a rigid curriculum and cram in study time to prepare for a big test every week. I study at my own pace, and freely schedule my school work around my career.

Why are you taking online courses?

"I’m taking online courses because I want to obtain my BSN, but I don’t want to take time away from working at the patient’s bedside and developing my career. SEMO Online makes it easy to complete my school work around my time at the hospital, and in doing so, learn the most that I can to become a better nurse."

Why would you encourage other students to attend SEMO Online?

"The instructors are easy to work with, and the material is interesting and engaging. Two classes I’ve found particularly interesting have been Nursing Research and Community Health."

How do you balance school, work, and personal life?

"On my days off I usually wake up and work on my school work while enjoying coffee and breakfast. Sometimes even at work if it’s slow I can work on homework a little at a time. Balancing my personal life around work and school is no problem. Southeast Online makes it easy to complete my school work gradually throughout the week. When it comes to finding time for my family, I don’t feel overwhelmed by work or school."

What advice would you give current online students?

"Establish a specific time to do your homework every day, this keeps you from skipping lessons when you feel like being a little bit lazy. Also, don’t wait until the last minute to finish your homework. If it’s a big assignment, work on it slowly through the week. If it’s a small one, just focus for one hour and do nothing but the assignment. Once you’re finished, bask in the marvelous feeling of doneness."

Apply
